A TOTAL of 20 nest boxes were built by 28 people ahead of the bird nesting season at an event run by the EuCAN Milverton Conservation Volunteers event on Saturday.
Co-organiser Gwil Wren said: "The morning was a terrific success and we were bowled over by the interest and enthusiasm shown for this event.
"It's really important to encourage young people to appreciate wildlife and what better way than putting up a nest box and seeing what it attracts.
"We are very grateful for the support we received from Phil Chambers and Nicky Saunter at the sawmill who provided the wood and the venue, Tony Hoyle who cut the wood and Gary who provided the carpentry expertise on the day."
Participants have been asked to report back to the Group so that we can see how many birds this project has helped.
