HUNDREDS of people visited Vivary Park as some of the big names in the music industry descended on the park.

The Somerset Rocks event kicked off in Taunton on Friday night as Status Quo and Steve Harley entertained music-lovers throughout the night.

On Saturday night, Will Young took to the stage to cover fans in confetti as they listened to the Pop Idol winner's greatest hits.

Scouting for Girls and Philippa Hanna warned up the crowd before the main man took to the stage.

The third and final night saw Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra along with guests, Red Sky July, each wearing a sunflower in support of the charity, bringing the much-anticipated weekend of live music to a close last night (Sunday).

Somerset Rocks was hosted by LCC Live in partnership with St. Margaret’s Hospice to help raise awareness of the vital end of life care that St. Margaret’s delivers across Somerset.

Les Kidger, event director for Somerset Rocks, said: "It was a great weekend and everything went smoothly.

"It was fantastic to see as we had a different demographic turn up every night.

"We made a promise that we would bring the sunshine with us and we did, that bit of rain yesterday was perfect for the grass."

Each year the hospice cares for over 3,200 patients with life-limiting illnesses in Somerset, for which it must fundraise £7.5 million each year.
