AVON and Somerset Police are on the lookout for new officers to learn on the job with their Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) programme.

The degree apprenticeship route allows applicants to obtain a degree whilst earning money and gaining first-hand experience on the job.

Since you would be classed as a full-time student, you can benefit from student benefits, such as discounts.

The Avon and Somerset Police's website reads: "The PCDA programme is delivered in partnership with the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and includes classroom delivery, practical application and tutorship.

"The programme is split between the University’s Frenchay and Glenside campuses and Police Headquarters in Portishead."

Whilst apprentices won't be expected to contribute towards the cost of their degree, they will remain in probation for the three year duration of the programme.
