Hugh Cornwell, former frontman for The Stranglers, will stage a concert at Frome's Cheese & Grain next month.

The concert will take place on January 27, 2024, with special guests The Primitives.

Throughout his time with The Stranglers, Hugh penned memorable songs across ten albums.

He then launched a solo career after releasing his final album with the band.

Hugh's well-known songs include Golden Brown, Strange Little Girl, Always The Sun, and Peaches.

His single Golden Brown drew attention for its lyrics' multiple meanings, reaching number two in the UK singles charts.

Moving forward to 2022, Hugh received critical acclaim for his latest album Moments of Madness, celebrated for its sharp, witty commentary on life.

The Frome concert will also feature The Primitives, an English indie rock band renowned for their 1988 international hit Crash.

Formed in 1984, The Primitives have undergone breakups and reformations, with vocalist Tracy Tracy and guitarist Paul Court remaining as constant members.

The band has earned a reputation for its music style that straddled power pop, new wave, and post-punk.
