AUCTIONEERS Greenslade Taylor Hunt have appointed a new partner to join the long-established independent property firm.

Andrew Clements started with the firm in 2010 as a graduate and has rapidly climbed the ranks to be promoted from associate in 2020 to the firm’s newest partner.

He focuses on auctioning dairy, calves and machinery at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, Junction 24, North Petherton, which was crowned Auction Mart of the year 2023 by industry experts.

Mr Clements is part of the leading dairy department which conducts auctions of cattle from across the South of England, Wales and further afield.

Having graduated from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, he joined GTH and learned auctioneering from the bottom up starting with poultry.

He was trained on the calves by Charles Clark and on machinery by Derek Biss before graduating to dairy cattle, which is his particular specialism. He holds the Sedgemoor auctioneering record for the top priced dairy cow of 15,000 guineas.

Welcoming Mr Clements to the partnership, GTH chairman Richard Webber said: “We are delighted that Andrew is joining the GTH partnership.

"It is a well-deserved promotion and just reward for his dedication and commitment over the years.”

Mr Clements said: "It’s exhilarating to be entering my next chapter at GTH, a brand that signifies professionalism, has a huge breadth of expertise and still remains independent.

“My passion is auctioneering and although specialising in dairy cattle I always look forward to the days when we are conducting an auction – there are not many firms that have the expertise to sell almost anything under the hammer, like GTH does.”

The dairy industry is very much in his DNA as he hails from North Somerset, where his father farms a dairy herd.

Andrew has built up the pedigree dairy section at Sedgemoor and brought the National Holstein Sale to the venue.
