The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance will be holding its annual twilight run in July.

The charity's 5K Twilight Shift will take place on Saturday, July 6 at Henstridge Airfield, the operational base for the critical care team.

There are 500 slots and the course can be run, jogged, or walked. The first 100 adults to register will receive a free t-shirt, and participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship.

Alana Hardy, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance fundraising events officer said: “Our 5K Twilight Shift is always an inspiring event and we are hoping to build on the success of previous years and make this one better than ever.

"It’s really special, as people who take part, get to meet members of our crew and often see the aircraft depart should our team be needed to respond to an incident.

"The atmosphere is really fun, but the cause is so very important. People who join us on the day and raise money in sponsorship will be helping us to continue saving lives, today, tomorrow and in the future."

Registration can be done online via the event's website. Adults and under 16s can enter for £15 and £10 respectively. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
