SCOTTISH star Lulu is heading to Glastonbury Festival for a final show after announcing her retirement from touring.

In February, the 75-year-old announced her plans to retire after six decades in the spotlight when she wraps up her small Champagne for Lulu tour this month.

Speaking to broadcaster and former MP Gyles Brandreth on his Rosebud podcast, Lulu said: “This is my farewell tour, with family, and friends.

“Last year I did a tour that was kind of gruelling, it was successful, it went well, but you need an army to be a success in your career these days and I felt unsupported.

“But then I turned 75, and I thought, 'You know what, I want to carry on working, but I want to do it a different way’.”

But her name has now been revealed on the line-up poster for Glastonbury's Field of Avalon area, where she also performed in 2015.

Other names on the bill include Frank Turner, Kate Nash, Lucy Spraggan, The Magic Numbers and Skindred.

When the poster was released, a Glastonbury Festival spokesperson said: “Once again the heart of Worthy Farm, the Field of Avalon will come alive again with the spirit of Albion fayre.

“Like an island in the sea of Glastonbury, the Field of Avalon maintains its unbroken connection to the earthy Eden.

“Once part of the Greenfields it remains as one of the original areas still visited by a diverse lineage of legendary musicians, artists and fellow pilgrims.

“Festival travellers come to rest their weary legs and recharge with a pint of ale, delicious food and some of the best and diverse musical programs on site.

“Expect days of eclectic music representing the best in the world of contemporary, roots and folk music, a gender equal line-up and intimate, never-forget Glastonbury moments when you visit the Field of Avalon.”
