SECOND placed Taunton Town will be aiming to set the record straight when they travel to bottom side Bashley in the Evo-Stik League tomorrow (3pm).

The New Forest outfit caused a major shock by winning 2-0 at the Viridor Stadium in September to abruptly end the Peacocks’ 15 game unbeaten league run but despite that result Town have maintained their position among the leaders and are undefeated in their last seven outings.

Bashley meanwhile have continued to struggle, only harvesting five points all season including their win against Taunton which still ranks as their sole success of the campaign so far.

Manager Leigh Rob-inson should have a full squad available for the trip south apart from his trio of long-term injury victims who all hope to return in the New Year.

Rodney Marsh and Lamar Powell are back in light training and will potentially be back for the trip to Fleet Town on January 3 while midfielder Rob Norrish, who has been out of action since early October, has a cartilage operation next month and hopes to return by the end of February.

With an exciting second half of the season in prospect, half-season tickets are now on sale which cover the Peacocks’ ten remaining home fixtures in the Evo-Stik League beginning with the New Year’s Day clash against Wimborne Town.

Prices are £60 for adults, £30 for concessions and £10 for Under 16’s, with tickets on sale at the club office on 01823 254909.

After a scoreless first half, Town went ahead four minutes after the break when Jack Hobbs fired home following an Ollie Johnson cross.

The hosts equalised just past the hour mark but Taunton retook the lead on 74 minutes through Cameron Higgins.

Matt Trump then scored a fantastic individual goal after 82 minutes before Lewis Waldy blasted in the final goal in the last minute.
