Counties 2 Tribute Somerset: Weston-s-Mare II 26-22 Huish Tigers

HUISH Tigers were narrowly beaten at the weekend away from home against Weston United (Weston-super-Mare Seconds).

The match ended 26-22 in the Counties 2 Tribute Somerset league and was Weston's first win this season.

The result means Taunton-based Hush Tigers drop to eighth place in the league table while Weston move off the bottom for the first time.

Weston United had led 26-17 at the break after the visitors had scored three tries, with the first converted, and held off a late surge from the Tigers as they added an unconverted try five minutes from time.

Hayden Main, Cameron Maslen, Sam Fisher, and Joshua Cook were the Weston United try-scorers with fly-half Hayden Main also kicking three conversions.

While for Huish, Lewis Parker, Jack Johns, Jordan Rickets and Finbar Anderson-Wishart scored their four tries. George Gass converted one of them.

After picking up the two bonus points in defeat, the club said: "Big shift from the lads in freezing cold conditions coming very close to being on the right side of the result."

Up next, Huish Tigers take on St Bernadettes Old Boys on Saturday December 9 away from home.
