SOMERSET County Council urge people to consider a career in childminding, if they haven't already.
Many struggle to be able to afford to put their children into traditional nurseries, which, according to the Day Nurseries website, can cost over £7,000 a year just for part-time care.
During a cost of living crisis, this can cause problems.
However, childminding can vary in price and there are cheaper options for parents, who may be worried about how they will stretch their budget.
Childminding can be an extremely rewarding enterprise for those that want to educate and nurture the next generation.
To help encourage people to give it a try, the council are offering a Golden Hello Grant, which helps newly registered childminders find their feet. More information about the grant can be found on the council's website.
So, if you are looking for your next opportunity, why not give childminding a go?
Have you considered childminding? #Somerset needs more childminders and you may be perfect for the role without even realising… here's a couple things that would make the job potentially a great career choice for you 👇
